The oven (OV) is the central core of the mechanisms assembly. Its cylindric main body formes a common piece with the gate valve main body. The heating element procured by Thermocoax is a resistance protected by a stainless steel shield; it is rolled such a way as it occupies the inner volume of the filter when the latter is retracted inside the oven. Two thermocouples, one for the heating element, one for the inner surface of the oven body are used for thermal control and monitoring. Taking into account the geometry of the three injection valves V1, V2, VT associated, the total dead volume of the oven is 6 cm3. In order to minimize chemical reactions with the walls, the inner surface of the oven body is gold coated (few micron layer).
